So Moved In...
And back from a little vacation. Need to get back to writing but before I do let me recommend a few nifty things I've been enjoying recently. I'm going to skip the obvious awesome (Dark Knight, and in fact all the awesome big movies this summer) and move on to other things:
1) Pandora.com (Website/Music)
Free design your own radio. I'd like to thank Kevin Mowery for turning me onto this. Check it out, it makes great fodder for designing custom soundtracks from everything from writing sessions/projects to just life in general.
2) Hunter the Vigil (Rpg)
One of the best role playing games to come out of White Wolf publishing in a while (that I didn't write for of course). Great way to play everything from Supernatural to SHIELD v. Monsters.
3) In Bruges (DVD)
Bar none the best UK hitman stranded in Belgium movie ever. More seriously a great flick, like Gross Pointe Blank meets...I dunno, something involving Belgium.
4) Glass Fleet (Anime DVD)
A surprisingly deep and dramatic little anime. It's got swordfights, evil emperors, and some fairly complex characters. Very fun and worth a Netflixing at the very least.
5) Too Human (Xbox 360)
Okay I admit the game's Norse theme is a big hit with a armchair mythologist like myself, but even so I find it a fun game with some really nice incorporation of sci-fi and myth. Also, it further proves that you cannot count on game reviewers to get cultural references (one reviewer I saw was trashing on the games plot points which were clearly lifted straight out of the story of Ragnarök...which is what the game is essentially about.
6) Flogging Molly in concert (Band)
You owe it to yourself to see this band live. No really. That goes for you too.
That's it for now. Other stuff to come.

So, where are you living now? Still in chicago or somewhere else?
Just outside of Chicago. As in, if I were on the south side of the street I'd be in Chicago.
As such, you can't actually tell I'm not in Chicago...unless I tell you.
Which I just did :P.
You sir, need to come and visit again btw. I'm hoping that if the firm does well I will be able to come to the UK sometimes in '09 however.
I would love to see Flogging Molly in concert someday, but I don't think they have played anywhere near KC since I discovered them a few years back.
I need to check out Hunter as well. Everything I've heard about it makes it sound extremely cool.
Hope the move went well.
Maybe we can match up a Chicago visit and a concert someday, Jd.
