So it's Been Awhile...

Been busy with a bunch of other things.

Also been on rpg.net a bit more of late. Took a long break from there but I decided to give it another go. Overall it's okay but I was sadly exposed to something I wish I could undo.

There used to be the guy on rpg.net who called himself Nisarg. I don't remember much about this guy I admit....he went on my ignore list for being a pissy gamer and eventually got banned for being a pissy gamer. Gone, forgotten, and so on.

So thanks to unfortunate linkage...which I am not gonna inflict on folks here because wouldn't that just be hypocritical as all hell I was exposed to this guy again under the name RPGPundit.

Now setting aside for a moment that "pundit" to me is a term almost completely associated with "God I am so fucking sad" -In fact I think that's definition #3 in Oxford's- I was totally unsurprised and yet strangely annoyed to find out this guy is doing the internet rounds being a...? Can we guess? Look up two paragraphs. Yep, that's right he's being a pissy gamer. Somewhere along the line the hate=cool thing has come full circle again and I was inadvertantly exposed to craptastic illogical bitching about how rpg. net is full of horrible people, all your favorite games are crap, and he's being persecuted because he's telling the truth.

Nice thing is, this is my blog. I can say whatever the fuck I want and then some. I can express my opinion and it's not opression or censorship...it is free expression.

And my free expression is that is a load of crap. Total and utter fuckin' crap. This dude's a pissy gamer who says things like (and I quote):

So suddenly, we've got the Swine on the defensive.

So yeah, let's parse this out shall we? "Swine" and "defensive" are the two words which really stick out here. Elsewhere he talks about "The war against the swine." This motherfucker thinks he's in some sort of war with the Swine...which as far as I can tell are gamers who don't think like him and whose work he doesn't like.

How motherfucking sad is that? I mean really. What's worse, he's got the goddamned gall to throw a picture of Mark Twain, Samuel Langhorn Fucking Clemens up on his blog as if he's some sort of cigar smoking wisedom spouting American treasure.

I mean I guess it takes all kinds? Annoying kinds, stupid kinds, and overblown delusional kinds.

Seriously, folks, wake up call here...we're talking about role playing games. Make believe fantasy play time with magic ponies and spaceships. That you're even comparing it to war or equating your "opponents" to some enemy like they're the Hun or some crap because they don't agree with you is just fucking sad.

Really fucking sad. Terribly, dead baby on the train tracks in the rain fucking sad. Mutilated puppy being eaten alive by flies fucking sad. And yes, 35 year old gamer virgin with poor social skills and internet access fucking sad.* I mean really, isn't there a serum people can take to fix them when they act like this?

And yeah, folks like this have a right to talk. They can say whatever nasty doucebag thing pops into their heads. It's America, go nuts.

But when you do that know that Mark Twain and a lot of other folks hate you. Or at least we grow weary of being reminded you exist. And that's not because you're too raw or real or whatever bullshit you delude yourself with when you're angry and alone and working out self-loathing and displeasure with your lot in life. No, that's because you're so damned tedious that those people with real problems think your "war against the swine" is so pointless and sad that it's nearly infuriating in its outrageousness. And some of us tend to think it's kinda fair to fight "Swine" with "Oh come the fuck on, doofus!" Especially if we're sick of this kind of crap.

Or in the very least it's fun to bitch about these sad bastards as much as they do so about others and with similar base commentary. Because let's be honest, for many of us it's not the "Oh I got to 'em" kind of hate that trolls and rabble rousers want. It's the largely bemused, smile on my face as I type this "God I hate people like that...oh wait I need another glass of tea" type of reaction. They are an afterthought at best. It's just they are an unplesant afterthought I'd rather read an obit for than some proclamation of "how the war goes" report. And this goes double when the war involves twelve sided dice and copies of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.

But still, I won't call these annoying, mouthy freakjobs "swine." Because that's just rude.

So now, rpg.netters who actually click on links and blogs in sigs and all that...we have our dissenting viewpoint from the far too common "Man Nisarg/RpgPundit is fucking awesome! He tells it like it is!" comments I've seen in a few other such arenas. For everyone else, you just got to read me make fun of some guy who thinks he's a riverboat pilot on the great gunship Swinekiller.

You're welcome.

* To be fair I have no idea how old these people are.

Some while ago I stumbled over rpgpundit on that forum of his. I think he is hillarious and everyone should support his war against the swine. Best thing to do that would probably buy the rpg he has written. If you want to know how that rpg is, you can read a review of the rpg in his blog. Conveniently he has written the review himself.

I am not an expert in the sadness area, but I think he is a twelve on a 1-10 scale ^^

I think a 12 on a 10 point scale sounds about right.

One thing I remember about that guy on IRC chat is that he ranted that "D&D = gaming industry!"

When we told him that we agreed, but that we wanted to talk and play other games, he called us "swine," because we didn't want to talk about D&D.

I'm still mulling over the logic on that one...
